With today's tighter homes, a controlled, well-designed ventilation system is necessary. PE RC $39.64 The Heartland Vent This vent can be used as a dryer or fan vent. It an be exterior wall or roof mounted. This model is far superior to a standard louvered vent in several ways. First, the unique closure system prevents drafts from entering and keeps out leaves and outside debris, which can clog louvered vents. Additionally, the thermal plastic closure doesn't conduct heat as metal does, and it reflects moisture to retard frost formation. Polyurethane expanding foams are used in new construction and remodeling situations to insulate against heat lost. They are the best products to use around skylights, inside and outside of electrical outlets, between door or window and house frame, around pipe penetrations and around base plates. As you use this product, you will discover more and more applications. Our foams are available in two types of application kits. Both Handi-foam and Insta-foam contain no ozone-depleting CFCs. The foam is put into a 3/8th to 1/2in. bead that is controlled by a trigger. The R-value of these foams is 5 per inch, making them good insulators. Please use a good respirator when using these products. Insta-Foam comes as a kit in a 16 lb. box, complete with 8ft. of hose, one plastic nozzle and one brass nozzle. The foam is turned off at the box and the hose cleaned out for reuse several months later. Each box yields 4700 lined feet of a 3/8th in. to 1/2 in. bead, which makes this an excellent way to go for large jobs. PE IN550 $111.20 Polyurethane Expanding Gun-Mounted Foams Handi-foam Fastfill This is a 33oz. canister that screws in on top of a gun. This makes for more of a portable operation and a more controlled application. Each can contains approx. 1100 lined feet of a 1/2in. bead. PE HA $12.21.54 Convertible Foam Gun This convertible foam gun allows for use of either the Insta-foam box or the handi-foam canister. As long as a can (even when empty) is left on the gun, a closed system is set up and the foam will not cure inside the gun. The handi-foam screws in on top of the gun and the insta-foam attaches from the tube below. All parts of the gun are replaceable. PE G $119.40 Handishooter The handishooter is an economic plastic gun. The check valve allows the can to be removed from the top of the gun without wasting any foam. It is ten times as puncture resistant, with 5 times the tensile strength of 4 mil. polyethylene. It also has twice the perm rating, which makes for drier basements below grade and better vapor barriers above. Because it is only 3mil and because it is so tear resistant, it is much easier to install correctly and continuously than the standard 4 or 6mil. poly. Use white above grade. Tu Tuf Seam Tape PE TPTT 4in. x 100ft. $42.70/roll Refletex is an insulation, radiant barrier, and vapor barrier combined into one product. It is 5/16in. thick, made of layers of foil bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene, with two inner layers of bubblerap to resist heat flow. When installed with an air space, it provides a heat barrier equal to much thicker width of traditional insulating material. The R-value when the direction of the heat flow is up is 8.3; down 14.3; horizontal 9.8. It can be used whenever you would use any other insulation product. It has the added advantage of being moisture resistant (perfect for basement or crawl spaces), it is easier to install (just use a stapler and scissors) and it prevents no health hazards for the installer or the building occupant.
